Description
Built at the beginning of the 20th century in 1906 as a one floor apartment building, a doctor`s office and a newspaper publishing company house. Architects: József Vágó and László Vágó from Budapest. The style is Viennese version of geometrical Art Nouveau (Vienna Secession). The investor was Miksa Dőmötör, a doctor, physician. In the building was the doctor`s home and rental flats, too. The “Minerva” press company existed in the building for several years. In 2008, the building was reconstructed, and from then, gives space to the City Museum. At that time, the gate with the bird motives was designed by Gábor Dömötör, a descendent of the original owner, who moved out in 1914. The building is Listed in national registry as a building of particular value, with local historic importance.
